Method

Preparation of Salad Base

1

Chop the Vegetables

Wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Halve the cherry tomatoes, peel and dice the cucumber, chop the red bell pepper, and grate the carrot.

2

Combine the Salad Base

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red bell pepper, and grated carrot. Toss gently to mix.

Cooking the Bacon

3

Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into bite-sized pieces.

Assembling the Salad

4

Add Toppings

Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and croutons over the salad base. Chop the scallions and scatter them on top.

Making the Dressing

5

Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Final Assembly

6

Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad, tossing gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

7

Serve

Serve the salad immediately as a hearty side or main dish.
