Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Making the Cake Batter
- 3
Melt Butter and Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.
- 4
Whisk Eggs and Sugar
In a separate bowl, whisk together the large eggs, large egg yolks, and granulated sugar until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Stir until fully combined.
- 6
Add Flour
Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Baking the Cake
- 7
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.
- 8
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is soft and gooey.
- 9
Cool Slightly
Remove from the oven and let them cool for about 1-2 minutes.
