Method

Waffle Preparation

1

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

2

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

3

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

4

Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

5

Cook Waffles

Pour enough batter into the preheated waffle iron to cover the surface, close the lid, and cook until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Repeat until all batter is used.

Candied Bacon Preparation

6

Prepare Bacon

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7

Coat Bacon

Lay the bacon strips on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar and black pepper evenly over the bacon.

8

Bake Bacon

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and caramelized. Remove and let cool.

9

Chop Bacon

Once cooled, chop the candied bacon into small pieces for topping.

Whipped Butter Preparation

10

Whip Butter

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with an electric mixer until creamy.

11

Add Sugar and Vanilla

Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy.

Assembly

12

Serve Waffles

Place a waffle on a plate, top with whipped butter, sprinkle with candied bacon, and drizzle with maple syrup. Enjoy!
