Bananas Foster Sauce

Method

French Toast Preparation

1

Mix the Egg Mixture

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.

2

Prepare the Bread

Dip each slice of sourdough bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Allow excess mixture to drip off.

3

Cook the French Toast

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the dipped bread slices and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Bananas Foster Sauce Preparation

4

Melt Butter and Brown Sugar

In a separate skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring to combine.

5

Add Bananas

Slice the bananas and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes until they are softened and start to caramelize.

6

Add Rum

Carefully add the dark rum to the skillet. Allow it to cook for an additional minute, letting the alcohol cook off slightly.

Assembly

7

Serve

Place the cooked French toast on a plate, top with the warm bananas Foster sauce, and serve immediately.
