Falafel Ingredients
Method
Falafel Directions
- 1
Preparing the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Allow them to dry on a paper towel for about 10 minutes.
- 2
Mixing the Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, chopped parsley, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely blended but not pureed.
- 3
Forming the Falafel Balls
Transfer the mixture to a large bowl. Add the olive oil and flour, and mix until well combined. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more flour. Form the mixture into small balls or patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

Baking the Falafel
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the falafel balls on the baking sheet and lightly brush or spray them with olive oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.

Serving the Falafel
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with Tzatziki dip on the side.
