Preparation Steps
- 1
Bake the Chocolate Cake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan. Prepare your favorite chocolate cake batter and pour it into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool completely.
- 2
Prepare the Chocolate-Hazelnut Ganache
In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add 8 ounces of chopped dark chocolate and 1/2 cup of chocolate-hazelnut spread. Stir until smooth and glossy. Let it cool for about 15 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- 3
Assemble the Sundae
Once the chocolate cake is cooled, cut it into small pieces. In a serving bowl, layer a generous amount of chocolate cake pieces, followed by a scoop of chocolate gelato. Drizzle with chocolate-hazelnut ganache, add cookie crumble, and top with whipped cream. Repeat the layers if desired.
- 4
Serve
Serve immediately with extra chocolate-hazelnut ganache and cookie crumble on the side.
