Meatballs or Pepperoni
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef or pork, panko breadcrumbs, mozzarella cheese, pecorino cheese, egg, chopped parsley, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. If making pepperoni, slice the pepperoni into smaller pieces and mix them into the meatball mixture or place a piece in the center of each meatball.
- 3
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 4
Cook Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet.
- 5
Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
- 6
Serve with Tomato Sauce
In a saucepan, heat the tomato sauce over medium heat. Serve the crispy meatballs with the sauce on the side or over the meatballs.
