Cook the Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks.

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and mix well. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.
