Peel and Cut Plantains
Peel the plantains and cut them into chunks.

Boil Plantains
In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the cut plantain chunks and boil until they are soft, approximately 15-20 minutes.

Drain and Mash
Drain the boiled plantains and return them to the pot. Add salt. Using a mortar and pestle or a sturdy spoon, pound the plantains until they are smooth and stretchy, similar to a dough.

Serve
Shape the fufu into a ball or mound and serve warm as a side dish with your favorite soup or stew.
