Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef and pork, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in marinara sauce, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Lasagna Noodles
Boil lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.
- 4
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer 4 noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and a third of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles topped with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella. Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan.
- 5
Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
