Cooking Instructions
Soak the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Drain the Rice
After soaking, drain the rice in a colander and let it sit for about 30 minutes to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
Prepare the Steamer
Fill a steamer pot with water and bring it to a boil. Line the steamer basket with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel.
Steam the Rice
Spread the drained rice evenly in the lined steamer basket. Cover and steam for about 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and sticky.
Season the Rice
Once cooked, transfer the sticky rice to a bowl, sprinkle with salt, and mix gently.
Serve
Serve the sticky rice warm, and enjoy it with your hands!
