Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spinach

If using fresh spinach, wash and chop it. If using frozen spinach, thaw and drain excess water.

  2. 2

    Prep the Shrimp

Ensure the shrimp are peeled and deveined, pat them dry with a paper towel.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for about 30 seconds. Then add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic and Ginger

Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili (if using). Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Cook Spinach

Add the prepared spinach to the skillet. If using fresh spinach, cook until wilted, about 3-5 minutes. If using frozen spinach, cook until heated through.

  4. 6

    Season the Mixture

Stir in turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. 7

    Add Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the spinach mixture. Cook until shrimp are pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 8

    Finish with Cream

Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until creamy and well combined.
