Preparation
- 1
Rinse the Rice
Measure 1 cup of basmati rice into a fine mesh strainer. Rinse under cold running water until the water runs clear, to remove excess starch. This will help keep the rice fluffy.
- 2
Soak the Rice
Transfer the rinsed rice to a bowl and cover it with water. Let it soak for about 30 minutes. Drain the rice before cooking.
- 3
Prepare Saffron
In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of warm water and stir in the saffron threads. Let it steep for about 10-15 minutes to release its color and flavor.
