Preparation of Ingredients
Prepare the Cucumber
Wash the cucumber thoroughly. Peel it if desired, then slice it into thin rounds or dice it into small pieces.
Prepare the Onion
Peel the onion and chop it finely. You can soak it in water for a few minutes to reduce the sharpness if preferred.
Chop the Coriander
Wash the fresh coriander leaves and chop them roughly.
Mixing the Raitha
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, add the plain yogurt and whisk it until smooth.
Add Vegetables and Spices
Add the prepared cucumber, chopped onion, and coriander to the yogurt. Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, cumin powder, and red chili powder.
Mix Well
Gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined. Ensure the spices and vegetables are evenly distributed throughout the yogurt.
Serving
Chill and Serve
Let the raitha sit in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled as a side dish or condiment with your favorite Indian meal.
