Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, lemon juice, salt, and oil. Mix well until all ingredients are blended smoothly.
- 2
Prepare the Paneer and Vegetables
Cut the paneer into 1-inch cubes. Chop the bell peppers and onion into similar-sized pieces. Add the paneer and chopped vegetables to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.
Cooking
- 3
Preheat the Tandoor or Oven
Preheat your tandoor or an oven to 200°C (392°F). If using an oven, line a baking tray with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- 4
Skewering the Paneer and Vegetables
Thread the marinated paneer and vegetables alternately onto skewers. Leave a small gap between each piece for even cooking.
- 5
Cooking Paneer Tikka
Place the skewers in the preheated tandoor or on the baking tray in the oven. Cook for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer is golden and slightly charred.
- 6
Serving
Remove the skewers from the tandoor/oven and let them cool slightly. Serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
