Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts, raisins, ground cinnamon, and honey until well combined.

Naan Shaping and Cooking

  1. 5

    Shape the Naan

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a disc. Place a portion of the filling in the center, fold the edges over to seal, and then gently roll it out again into a teardrop shape.

  2. 6

    Cook the Naan

Heat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat. Brush the skillet with butter or ghee. Cook each naan for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. You can also puff the naan by pressing it down with a spatula.

  3. 7

    Serve

Remove the naan from the skillet and brush with additional butter or ghee if desired. Serve warm with your favorite curry or yogurt.
