Preparation

    Prepare the Shrimp

    Rinse the shrimp thoroughly under cold water and drain well. Set aside.

    Chop Vegetables

    Finely chop the onion and tomato. Set them aside.

Cooking

    Heat Oil

    In a large pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil over medium heat.

    Sauté Onions

    Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

    Add Ginger and Garlic

    Stir in 1 tablespoon of ginger paste and 1 tablespoon of garlic paste. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

    Incorporate Tomatoes and Spices

    Add the chopped tomato, green chilies, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft, about 5 minutes.

    Add Coconut Milk

    Pour in the coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer.

    Add Shrimp

    Add the prepared shrimp to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.

    Finish with Spices

    Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of garam masala over the shrimp curry and stir well. Let it simmer for another 2 minutes.

Serving

    Garnish and Serve

    Remove from heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and serve hot with rice or naan.
