Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Rinse the cauliflower florets under cold water and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pan or skillet, heat the oil over medium heat.

  2. 3

    Add Cumin Seeds

Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds until they turn a light brown.

  3. 4

    Add Potatoes

Add the cubed potatoes to the pan. Stir well and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they start to soften.

  4. 5

    Add Cauliflower

Add the cauliflower florets to the pan and stir to combine with the potatoes.

  5. 6

    Add Spices

Sprinkle the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt over the vegetables. Mix well to coat the vegetables with the spices.

  6. 7

    Add Water

Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes and cauliflower are tender.

  7. 8

    Finish with Garam Masala

Once the vegetables are cooked, sprinkle the garam masala on top and mix gently. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  8. 9

    Garnish

Remove the pan from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
