Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil.

  2. 2

    Mix in Flour

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. 4

    Season the Dough

Stir in the ground cinnamon to the dough until evenly distributed.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Churros

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe 6-inch long strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Sugar Coating

  1. 8

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat the Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until evenly coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 10

    Heat the Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

  2. 11

    Melt the Chocolate

Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
