Cook the Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook Penne
Add the penne pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce

Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Brown the Meat
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.

Combine Ingredients
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Add Fresh Basil
Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.
Combine and Serve

Mix Pasta with Sauce
Combine the drained penne pasta with the Bolognese sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.

Serve the penne Bolognese hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
