Method

For the Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 3

    Sear the Salmon

Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes without moving them, until the skin is crispy.

  4. 4

    Flip and Roast

Flip the salmon fillets and add lemon slices on top. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) and roast for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through.

For the Seasonal Sauce

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic

Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 7

    Add Capers and Lemon Juice

Stir in the capers and lemon juice. Cook for another minute.

  4. 8

    Incorporate Fresh Herbs

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chopped fresh herbs. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
