Method
Meatballs Preparation
- 1
Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Ensure they are fully cooked through by checking that the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Slider Assembly
- 4
Prepare the Buns
While the meatballs are cooking, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half and place them on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- 5
Add Sauce and Cheese
Once the meatballs are cooked, place one meatball on each slider bun. Spoon marinara sauce over each meatball and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- 6
Bake the Sliders
Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Remove the sliders from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, and serve warm.
