Pizza Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F) and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes or until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large bowl, combine bread flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 10 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and let sit for 10 minutes.

  3. 7

    Roll Out Dough

On a floured surface, roll each dough ball into a 10-12 inch round pizza base.

  4. 8

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread a layer of tomato sauce on each pizza base. Add cheese and your choice of toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, feta, pineapple, sausage, spinach, and basil) as desired.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizzas

Transfer the pizzas to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 10

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizzas from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot!
