Chicken Preparation

Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them evenly with the spice mixture.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

  3. 3

    Shred the Chicken

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Using two forks, shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  4. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

In the same skillet, return the shredded chicken and pour in the BBQ sauce. Stir to combine and heat for an additional 3-5 minutes until the chicken is well-coated and warmed through.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the chicken is heating with the BBQ sauce, slice the sandwich buns in half and toast them lightly if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place a generous portion of the pulled chicken on the bottom half of each sandwich bun. Top with coleslaw, pickles, and sliced jalapeños if using.

  3. 7

    Serve

Place the top half of the bun over the filling and serve immediately while hot.
