Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Trim any excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for flavor.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Season the Brisket

Rub the dry rub mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Smoke the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Place the seasoned brisket in the smoker and cook for about 6-8 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).

  2. 5

    Cube the Brisket

Once the brisket is cooked, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes. Cut the brisket into 1-inch cubes.

  3. 6

    Finish with Barbecue Sauce

Toss the brisket cubes with barbecue sauce in a bowl, ensuring they are well coated.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Place the sauced brisket cubes on a slice of bread and serve immediately.
