Brisket

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Trim the Brisket

Start by trimming excess fat from the brisket, leaving a thin layer for flavor.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over the brisket.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Smoke the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Place the seasoned brisket on the smoker rack and smoke for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  2. 4

    Rest the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the smoker and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  3. 5

    Slice and Serve

Slice the brisket against the grain into thin pieces, measuring out 2 ounces for serving. Drizzle with BBQ sauce before serving.
