Pancake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly before adding it to the wet mixture.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; small lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can add a small amount of butter to the pan to prevent sticking.

  5. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the heated skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Serve with whipped cream and extra butter on top as desired.
