Method
Preparation
Prepare the Wings
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until well coated.
Bake the Wings
Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden.
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir until the mixture is well combined. Add red pepper flakes to taste. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes until thickened.
Coat the Wings
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and toss them in the BBQ sauce until well coated.
Prepare the Ranch Dressing
In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.
Serve
Serve the BBQ wings hot with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
