Method

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 1

    Chop Vegetables

Wash and chop the potato, onion, cauliflower, and spinach into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the green chili.

Batter Preparation

  1. 2

    Mix Batter Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 3

    Add Water

Gradually add water to the dry mixture, stirring continuously to form a smooth, thick batter.

Combining

  1. 4

    Combine Vegetables and Batter

Add the chopped vegetables and green chili to the batter, ensuring they are well coated.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

  2. 6

    Fry Pakoras

Using a spoon, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated vegetable mixture into the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 7

    Drain Oil

Remove the pakoras from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve Hot

Serve the vegetable pakoras hot with chutney or ketchup.
