Meat

Kachumbari

Method

Marinating the Meat

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, vegetable oil, and lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Rub the marinade all over the beef steak. Ensure it's well coated. Cover and let it marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Preparing the Kachumbari

  1. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber into small pieces. Place them in a large bowl.

  2. 4

    Add Cilantro and Season

Chop the cilantro and add it to the bowl. Pour in the lemon juice and sprinkle with salt. Toss the mixture well to combine.

Grilling the Meat

  1. 5

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 6

    Grill the Beef

Place the marinated beef steak on the grill. Cook for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.

  3. 7

    Rest the Meat

Once cooked, remove the beef from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the grilled beef into strips and serve it hot with the kachumbari on the side.
