Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mangoes

Peel the mangoes, remove the pit, and chop the flesh into small pieces. Measure out 3 cups of chopped mangoes and place them in a blender.

  2. 2

    Make the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  3. 3

    Blend Ingredients

Once the simple syrup has cooled, add it to the blender with the mango pieces. Also, add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Freezing

  1. 4

    Freeze the Mixture

Pour the mango mixture into a shallow dish or an ice cream maker. If using a shallow dish, cover it with plastic wrap. Place it in the freezer.

  2. 5

    Stir and Scrape

After 1 hour, remove the dish from the freezer and stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Return to the freezer.

  3. 6

    Repeat the Process

Continue to check and stir every 30 minutes for about 2-3 hours until the sorbet is firm but still scoopable.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Sorbet

Once the sorbet has reached the desired consistency, scoop it into bowls or cups. Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
