Filling
For Frying
Method
Dumpling Wrapper Preparation
- 1
Make the Wrapper Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Filling Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Filling
In a food processor, add the raw shrimp and pulse until coarsely chopped. Transfer to a bowl.
- 4
Assembling and Cooking
- 5
Roll the Dough
Divide the dough into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter). Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
- 6
Fill the Dumplings
Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- 7
- 8
Fry the Dumplings
Carefully add the dumplings to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- 9
Drain and Serve
Use a slotted spoon to remove the dumplings from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
