Method

Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chopped rosemary. Rub the olive oil all over the turkey, then apply the seasoning mixture generously on the skin and inside the cavity.

  3. 3

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey breast side up on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast for approximately 3 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with its juices every hour for a moist result.

  4. 4

    Rest and Shred

Once the turkey is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 30 minutes. Carefully shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 6

    Prepare Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 7

    Combine and Chill

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, then toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly of Cole Turkey

  1. 8

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice the sandwich rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 9

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each roll, place a slice of provolone cheese, a generous portion of shredded turkey, a scoop of coleslaw, and drizzle with Russian dressing and additional mayonnaise.

  3. 10

    Finish and Serve

Top with the other half of the roll, press down gently, and serve immediately.
