Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking tray.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and browned.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

  2. 5

    Cook the Sauce

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Add the Meatballs

Once the sauce has thickened, gently add the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

Spaghetti

  1. 7

    Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 8

    Combine with Sauce

Toss the cooked spaghetti with the marinara sauce and meatballs until well coated.

Garlic Bread

  1. 9

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 10

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides.

  3. 11

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
