Tuna Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, soy sauce, lime juice, salt, black pepper, and wasabi paste. Stir well to combine.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tuna

Place the Ahi tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the tuna. Make sure the tuna is well-coated. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Pan

Heat a skillet over high heat until it is very hot. Add a bit of olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.

  4. 4

    Sear the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Coat the tuna steaks in sesame seeds. Place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare, or longer depending on your desired doneness.

Garnish

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garnish

While the tuna is searing, slice the avocado, radishes, and chop the cilantro. Arrange on a plate for serving.

  2. 6

    Serve the Tuna

Once the tuna is seared to your liking, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the tuna into thin pieces and serve with the avocado, radishes, and cilantro on the side. Drizzle with any remaining marinade if desired.
