Base

Method

Base

  1. 1

    Prepare the crust

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Press into pan

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Use the back of a measuring cup for even pressure.

  3. 3

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

Filling

  1. 4

    Blend the filling

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until well combined.

  2. 5

    Whip the cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  3. 6

    Combine

Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully integrated and fluffy.

  4. 7

    Fill the crust

Pour the filling over the cooled crust, spreading it evenly. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

Topping

  1. 8

    Prepare the topping

Before serving, sprinkle chocolate shavings or cocoa powder over the top of the cheesecake. Optionally, add fresh berries for a burst of color and flavor.
