Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients and make sure the sauerkraut is drained well to avoid sogginess.
- 2
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread 1 tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice of marbled rye bread. Layer corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on two of the slices. Top with the remaining slices of bread, dressing side down.
- 3
Toast the Sandwich
In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and toast for about 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip the sandwiches, add the remaining butter, and toast the other side for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- 4
Serve
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm with extra Thousand Island dressing on the side.
