Shrimp and Grits Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Gradually whisk in the corn grits, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

  2. 2

    Cook the Grits

Reduce the heat to low and cook the grits for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Add salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and well combined.

  3. 3

    Season the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the seasoned shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

  5. 5

    Make the Creamy Sauce

Remove the cooked shrimp from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the heavy cream and 2 tablespoons of butter, stirring to combine. Cook on low for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  6. 6

    Combine and Serve

Return the shrimp to the skillet with the creamy sauce, and mix to coat. Serve the shrimp mixture over the creamy grits, garnished with chopped green onions.
