Prepare the Cheese Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the white cheddar cheese, minced garlic, and chopped jalapeño.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

Combine Mixtures
Add the dry ingredients to the cheese mixture and stir until well combined. Then add the beaten egg and mix until a dough forms.

Shape the Bites
Using your hands, form the mixture into small bite-sized balls.

Heat Oil
In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.

Fry the Bites
Carefully drop the cheese bites into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

Drain and Serve
Remove the bites from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with house ranch dressing.
