Fish and Marinade

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Marinate the Salmon

In a bowl, combine salmon fillets with turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well and let it marinate for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Gravy

Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Onions

Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  4. 4

Add Ginger-Garlic Paste and Green Chilies

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and the oil separates.

  6. 6

    Add Spices and Tamarind

Stir in the tamarind pulp, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  7. 7

    Cook the Salmon

Gently add the marinated salmon fillets to the gravy. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.

  8. 8

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or bread.
