Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spice Mix

In a pan, dry roast the dry red chillies on low heat until fragrant. Allow them to cool, then grind them into a coarse powder along with the grated coconut, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Prawns

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften. Then, add the ground spice mix and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Combine Prawns

Add the cleaned prawns to the pan, along with salt and garam masala. Stir well to coat the prawns with the spice mixture.

  5. 5

    Simmer

Cover the pan and let it simmer on low heat for about 5-7 minutes or until the prawns are cooked through.

  6. 6

    Finish the Dish

Once cooked, squeeze lemon juice over the prawns and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.
