Pakora Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, water, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix until you get a smooth batter.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the sliced potatoes, onion, chopped spinach, and green chili to the batter. Stir well to coat the vegetables evenly.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. To check if the oil is ready, drop a small amount of batter into the oil; it should sizzle and rise to the surface.

  4. 4

    Fry the Pakoras

Using a spoon or your hands, drop spoonfuls of the batter-coated vegetables into the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Once fried, remove the pakoras from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
