Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Slice the onions thinly and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a separate bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Onions and Batter

Gradually add water to the dry ingredients while stirring to form a thick batter. Add the sliced onions to the batter and mix until the onions are well coated.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat.

  5. 5

    Fry the Bhajias

Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the onion batter mixture into the oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the bhajias from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
