Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Poppy Seed Paste

In a small bowl, soak the poppy seeds in warm water for about 15 minutes. Then drain and blend with a little water to form a smooth paste. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Ginger

Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Cook the Chicken

Add the chicken pieces to the pan. Sprinkle turmeric and cumin powder over the chicken, and cook until the chicken is browned on all sides.

  5. 5

    Incorporate Coconut Milk

Pour in the coconut milk and add the slit green chilies. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  6. 6

    Add Poppy Seed Paste

Stir in the prepared poppy seed paste and season with salt to taste. Simmer on low heat for about 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

  7. 7

    Finish with Cilantro

Once the chicken is cooked, remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro leaves before serving.
