Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Saute the Aromatics

In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to sizzle for a few seconds. Then add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes translucent.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Ginger

Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Tomatoes and Spices

Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the tomato softens.

  4. 4

    Add Spinach

Stir in the spinach and cook until wilted (if using fresh) or heated through (if using frozen).

  5. 5

    Mix in Chickpeas

Add the chickpeas and stir well. Pour in a little water if the mixture is too thick. Simmer for 5-10 minutes to blend the flavors.

  6. 6

    Finish with Spices

Sprinkle garam masala and adjust seasoning with black pepper and additional salt as needed. Stir well and remove from heat.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired. Enjoy your Channa Saag!
