Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Chai Syrup Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Chai Syrup

In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the black tea leaves, sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger. Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain the syrup into a bowl.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is baked and slightly cooled, poke holes in the top and pour the chai syrup over it, allowing it to soak in.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Garnish with crushed pistachios and dried rose petals before serving.
