Method

Cooking Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions. If using the stovetop, bring the water to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender.

Preparing Vegetables

  1. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a pan, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the julienned carrots and zucchini, and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they are tender but still crisp. Remove and set aside. In the same pan, add the spinach and sauté until wilted, about 1-2 minutes. Remove and set aside. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside. Finally, briefly sauté the bean sprouts for about 1 minute and remove from heat.

Cooking Egg and Protein

  1. 3

    Cook the Egg

In a separate pan, fry the eggs sunny-side up or to your desired doneness, ensuring the yolks remain runny.

  2. 4

    Cook the Protein

If using beef or chicken, season with salt and pepper and stir-fry in the same pan until fully cooked. If using tofu, cut into cubes and sauté until golden brown.

Assembling Bibimbap

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, place a serving of the cooked rice at the bottom. Arrange the sautéed vegetables, cooked protein, and fried egg on top of the rice. Drizzle with gochujang, sesame oil, and soy sauce, and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.

  2. 6

    Serve

Mix all the ingredients together before eating for maximum flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy!
