Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- 2
Mix the Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- 3
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.
- 4
Heat the Griddle
Preheat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease with additional butter if needed.
- 5
Cook the Pancakes
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as butter, maple syrup, or fresh fruit.
