Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Marinade Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, pineapple juice, chopped green onions, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat. If using a grill pan, lightly grease with cooking spray or oil.

  2. 4

    Cook the Beef

Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the marinade. Grill the beef slices for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Vegetables

In the last few minutes of cooking, add the sliced red and yellow bell peppers and pineapple chunks to the grill or pan. Cook until the peppers are slightly tender and the pineapple is heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

  4. 6

    Serve

Serve the Hawaiian Bulgogi hot over a bed of cooked rice, garnished with additional chopped green onions if desired.
