Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure to have fresh lemons on hand for squeezing the juice and your favorite Elijah Craig Bourbon ready.
- 2
Squeeze the Lemon
Take a fresh lemon and cut it in half. Use a citrus juicer or your hands to squeeze out 1 oz of lemon juice into a measuring cup.
- 3
Measure Honey
Using a tablespoon, measure out 0.5 tbs of honey. If the honey is too thick, you may warm it slightly to make it easier to mix.
Mixing the Cocktail
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of Elijah Craig Bourbon, 1 oz of fresh squeezed lemon juice, and 0.5 tbs of honey.
- 5
Shake Well
Fill the shaker with ice, cover it tightly, and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- 6
Strain into Glass
Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice. If you prefer, you can also serve it neat without ice.
Garnishing
- 7
Add Garnish
Garnish your Gold Rush cocktail with a lemon wheel on the rim of the glass and add 3 fresh mint leaves for aroma and presentation.
